Best grilled cheese I've ever had! Golden brown on the outside and soft on the inside, buttered to perfection. 100% recommend.
Cute place. I took an espresso and grilled cheese, it was very good
Great, friendly service. Had the eggs with bacon sandwich and soy latte. Very tasty. Prices were surprisingly decent compared to other places in Toronto. Definitely recommend.
All day breakfast, taste good must try!
Best breakfast sandwich in all of TO!
good vibe
Average Joe's is a tiny restaurant in Kensington Market that can seat about 16 people at max (there are a few seats outside in summer). It has a great and exceptionally cheap brunch menu that includes a variety of egg-centric dishes and sandwiches. I recommend the baked eggs, the Hungry Joe breakfast and the caramel latte. The owner is very nice and usually works with just two other employees. The place fills up and empties so if you come around 11 or 12 on the weekend and find it full you could circle the block for 15 minutes and try your luck again. Also, it's cash only and there is no washroom.
Amazing food with not so reasonable price anymore... sadly
After checking this place out on yelp I decided to give this place a try and they did not dissapoint. I ordered the hungry Joe and I'm glad I did. Anyone in the Kensington area should try them out!
Great little brunch place! Great baked egg brunch!
Very good herbal tea and fried egg sandwich. Coffee could be more improve in the future.
Great food, super cheap. I liked it a ton!
Great short order style breakfast sandwiches. Family operation. High quality ingredients. I'm a fan.
Hands-down best breakfast in the city
I just had a vanilla latte. I loved the amount of care they put into each and every order they had. would definitely go again and try other things.
Very rich food, nice service
Baked eggs and French Toast were excellent. Service was friendly and fun.
Super dedicated to service and making an excellent business work. How? Attention to line ups, seating, your meal, details, friendliness, speed... you know all the stuff you'd think any restaurant would aim for.
Large portions!
Delicious brunch spot, small and quaint with excellent service. The food is prepared on the spot in a small open kitchen, deliciously fresh with ample portions. The brick toast is out of this world - I don't know how they make toast taste so good!
I've been coming here now for more than 4 years. I had I randomly discovered this place on one of my many Toronto trips from Montreal.Amazing service, delicious breakfast and coffee...what more could you want? Can be crowded on the weekends and have a little wait but more than worth it. My definite stop everytime I'm in the 6!
Well executed breakfast. Great value for the (low) price. Service was exceptional. Waiter was friendly and demonstrated above average common sense e.g. Bringing children food first, warned about food temperature. Recommended.
Amazing breakfast! Really tiny place but the food is spot on delicious
Great breakfast sandwiches and coffee!
First rate diner food. Small place -- 6 or so tables -- but simple food, good ingredients, made very well. Recommended.
This is a super cozy, wonderfully delicious place. I will definitely keep coming back.
This is my third time in Toronto and it upsets me that this is my first time eating at Average Joe's. I was looking up breakfast spots with high ratings and this was high on the list, plus it would also include a trip to Kensington Market. So glad I found this place. I ended up going on a Wednesday a little after they opened. It is a very small (only about 4 tables) but cute location. The chef/owner greeted me and was super sweet. I got the hungry joes and wow! The toast was thick and perfect for the runny eggs. I got a little salad and roasted tomato plus chicken bacon and a couple of home fries. It was all delicious and just the right amount of food to keep me full until my flight home. Can't recommend this place enough !
Amazing food with outdoor seating. The service was very prompt and polite
Far from average I'd say, great coffe and breakfast. Massive thick tasty toast, everything cooked to perfection.
I can't explain this place. I paid 13.50$ after tax for a breakfast that was easily worth 20$. It was unique, delicious, and healthy(-ish). Quickly becoming my #1 breakfast/brunch spot.So I'd say pretty Average.
Very cute breakfast spot. The highlight is their scrambled egg which they do in a Japanese style with an unbroken outter shell and fluffy inside. It's alot cheaper than other breakfast place for what you get. I'm surprise there isn't a line. What makes this place stand out however is the excellent service and attention to detail.
Hands down best toast I've ever had on this earth!
Nice place and light music😎😎😎
Friendly staff, efficient service, and tasty food! Great little spot, just a bit cramped.
Food was decent, good for the price. Highlight of the dish was the thick cut toast which was really fluffy. The atmosphere was homey, and it's a nice place for weekend brunch.
Used to be alright, however disappointingly they now they charge $12.95 for a simple 2egg breakfast; disgustingly overpriced. You can get the same thing at half the price in any number of places close by. Unless you're some clueless hipster, avoid.
Great cup of cappuccino!
Delightful espresso with great service.
The absolute best breakfast place in the city. A real hidden gem. The triple decker club is to die for.
Average Joe's has definitely above average breakfasts. Upon entering, the place was empty & we were greeted by Above average Joe's brother, Albert, and sat at one of the 5 tables. By the time we had finished our delicious breakfast the house was full. My wife got French toast and I had the Hearty Joes breakfast with eggs with sausage, fried tomato and home fries. Both were not just really really good but obviously a fair bit of care went into their presentation. The "hash browns" are actually a unique fried cooked potato that was smoked, chopped, fried and topped with crispy fried shallots. If hash brown can be a signature breakfast option than this was that. Highly recommended.
Absolutely love this spot in Kensington! The service is amazing and the servers/chef are incredibly friendly. They have the BEST French toast I have ever had, and they also serve a variety of delicious lattes/tea lattes. Will continue to come back here for their fantastic food and service :)
